Ali and Macara began their discussion of “A Promised Land”. With Macara noting aspects of Barack Obama’s character that come through in his anecdotes, as well as parallels between Michelle Obama’s and Barack’s tendencies to ask the difficult questions.
Ali mentioned that Obama seemed to truly appreciate the opportunity to be president, and wondered what his thoughts on the state of things in America would be now.
Both Ali and Macara agreed to continue the conversation about the book next week, on August, 25th.
