Hello,
I hope you’re all having a wonderful Saturday so far!
Depending on where you find yourself on social media, you might have seen a fair number of posts making the rounds about Bill C-15 this week!
For any of our listeners outside of Canada, or those who simply may not know, C-15 in a broad sense has to do with budget implementation. Of course, this is important, but that being said, it’s not quite the piece that has caught our attention and that of many others.
The bill also contains a clause that would repeal a provision that has allowed free matter, (here referring to braille books, tapes, CDs, braille paper and other accessible materials), to be mailed free of charge for the use of those who are blind or visually impaired, or those with other print-disabilities. This provision has helped create access to education, employment and community life for many decades.
We have decided to cover this topic across all of the shows within the Moosa Slobodian network. For instance, Ali and I will be discussing it on the episode of The Ali and Macara Show that will air on the day of this posting, Dec 13, 2025.
There will also be a bonus Books Panel, which will be live on Tuesday, Dec 16, at 7:30 PM Eastern, where we will have a roundtable discussion about C-15 with the panelists. As for The Ali Moosa Show, we will provide more information about the discussion of the Bill on the show soon.
We feel that this issue is an important one, and we hope that you will tune in for these conversations.
Thank you for reading and for listening to the shows!
